Discipline ...

So my biggest struggle lately has been disciplining Maddie..She is such a strong willed kid (which I know will serve her well when she is older)  however at the present..ITS HARD!

So Im the type that runs to the bookshop everytime I need some help (or amazon.com!) Lately Ive been listening to parenting CDs, reading books... and today I was thinking " I really need to go get the book A New Child By Friday...

But as I was doing my Bible Study I was reading the daily Proverbs ..chapter 15    and I realized  Ive been going to the wrong Book ! I really need to be seeking the Word of God and His answers to what is the best way to discipline the daughter that He gave to ME!

I encourage each of you to go to THE WORD!.. Books and all the resources we have available today are great but nothing  will be as efficient.

So if you think about.. say a prayer for us! We definately could use it!

Bonnie,
Love the blog!! And miss you lots. The girls are precious!!
I'm in a study right now called Motherwise and this is exactly what it's talking about! That we can go to all the resources we want - books, parenting magazines, talk shows, but nothing is more practical and applicable for raising children than the Word of God. Thank you for the note! It's neat how God uses people to reinforce what He's showing us! Love ya'll...

No - hahaha!! It's a christian bible study. Our church breaks the group of women down by the age of your children so you're with women dealing with similar struggles. Then they assign a "mentor" to each group, an older lady in the church whose children are grown that can pray over the group and offer guidance, wisdom, etc. The whole study is about setting your priorities - God, yourself, your husband, your children then work and ministry. There are quiet times through the week and a group lesson and a "mothering skill" taught too (healthy meals, setting a peaceful home, how to make Sunday mornings less hectic, etc). I absolutely LOVE it!! Learning so much and think every church should offer it. It's just a really neat study that teaches a lot about scripture and using the Word for raising children.
The girls are PRECIOUS and I LOVE seeing all your crafty projects - you are sooo talented! I'm impressed!!
